How do we find Inner Peace in troubles times?  What is the Key to maintaining connection to our core purpose and principles, when the world is rapidly shifting realities and bending beyond our level of experience?  How do we face our greatest fears and challenges, while moving through each arriving experience with ease and grace?  What role does Gratitude play in finding Inner Peace?

As we hugged, saying ‘Goodbye for Now’, it dawned on me our Hearts had just kissed.  We became One for a cosmic moment, embracing fully the wholeness of one another, and I experienced the Bliss of the resolving of polarities.

What do I mean by the ‘resolving of polarities”?

This same friend had just walked me through a powerful installation of a conscious awareness of inner patterns/programs that embody, perpetuate and co-create Bliss.  Ecstasy. Ekstasis.

Ekstasis is defined as this: The state of being beside one’s self or rapt out of one’s self.

Ekstasis is a word I use to describe what it feels like when I’m in the ‘flow’.  When I am tapped into the rhythm of Source, in harmony with Self and the World, and fully able to embody, perpetuate and co-create inspired connections and experience the state of Bliss.

So, the ‘resolving of polarities’ is the Divine Union.  It is the merging of This and Not This.  It is accepting All that IS, embracing fully the quantum dimensions of present-moment expression,and acting from a place of integrity and Unity. A willingness to surrender the illusion of separation and become ONE. One with Self.  One with Another. One with Life.  One with God.  One with the energy of Love.

Such is the nature of a Hug.

As we feel into this truth, we become aware that Hugging is a Divine Union, a merging of This (Self) and Not This (Other).  It is an acceptance of All that IS between us, as we embrace the Cosmic embodiment beside us, and become ONE.

This state of Oneness, and the Love that flows through a hug, continues long after we have said our Goodbyes and parted ways.  The coming together has touched our soul so deeply, kissed our Heart so completely, we are able to return to one another instantly by remembering the HUG.

Interestingly,  hugging is akin to Gratitude (you knew I’d slip it in, right?)

Gratitude is both give and receive.   When we enter a hug, we are both giver and receiver, Embraced and Embrace-er.   In every way, hugging transcends what words cannot convey, allowing our hearts to speak the pure language of Love … and so comes the resolution of polarities - the Divine Union.  With it, the experience of ekstasis.

Perhaps the definition, ‘rapt out of one’s self’ also means ‘wrapped out of oneself’.  Ahhhh … the ecstasy of a HUG.

So beloveds … I’m feeling especially grateful today.  Grateful for a propensity towards hugging.  (Did I tell you I LOVE HUGGING?!!!)  Grateful to my Nana, who embedded a deep appreciation for being hugged.  Oh! to have those mushy Grandma arms wrapped around me. Grateful for my children, young and old, who still allow me to lay some Hug Love on them, and return it just as quickly.   Grateful for a (k)new friend, whose presence and guidance elicited an even deeper appreciation of something so dear me.

So I’m praying forward the Love, flowing through the inter-web a big, mushy *HUG* …  a Heart Kiss from me to you … in Gratitude for this gathering space, to shine light on inspired insights and for all the times your Love has kissed my heart.

OOOOoooo …. guess what just came thru …

even in the word HUG, we find the resolving of polarities:

As always, I pray you are well and thriving!

What an amazing time to be alive!  Intense change is jolting us out of our comfort zone, and beckoning us to stretch, grow and go where Love calls us!

On our home front, we are preparing to move from WA to AZ. We’re excited to be reunited with family and friends there, and are always delighted to connect with new ones, too.

Maybe that includes you or someone you have ties to? As so, drop us a line and say ‘Hello!’

With sweet sorrow, we also are preparing to say our goodbyes to our family, friends and community circles here! We love the NW and will always carry its Spirit in our Hearts!

This move is a quick shift for us, requiring us to be present, sure-footed and have faith in our selves, our vision and Source. We are returning home, in many ways, after leaving for the NW just over six years ago.

It feels much aligned with the energy of the times.

Collectively, we are beginning to awaken!, to follow our bliss while trusting the still small voice of Love within. We are quickly ditching a dulling dream of lack and separation,to find we are World citizens, dreaming awake a One Heart Nation!

With these massive shifts in our world reality, we are finding it necessary - yes, vital! - to turn within to find our Truth.

No longer can we rely on a crumbling, old-paradigm matrix to nourish and sustain us, to guide and inspire us.  Rather, it is our time to cleanse and purify our hearts and minds that we may see clearly the path before us.  To let go and flow with the swift waters of change that are carrying us to new shores, new communities, and new world realities.

One thing I love about the ever-evolving Portland area, our current home,  is the forward-thinking, cultural creative Spirit that weaves together the land and the people.  Fittingly, a common bumper-sticker here is, “Keep Portland Weird!”

In this *weird* city, we recently attended the NW film festival, to see ‘Fierce Light’, an engaging, inspiring and heart-breaking movie about spirited-activism by Velcrow Ripper. If you have the chance to see it - go!

For now, let me share this:

I walked away with a renewed passion and commitment to living an authentic life.

Beloveds, it became piercingly clear that nothing less at this time with suffice.  Nothing greater will ever be asked of us, nor a more priceless gift can we offer the world.

Who are we to deny our greatness, or to hide in the shadows and play ’small’?

‘Fierce Light’ is a radiant guide, beckoning us make the journey through shadow of separation — to merge Spirit with Action, Purpose with passion and step forward to shine our authentic light.  And live it!

Scene by scene, Ripper reveals acts of compassion in the face of
hatred, Love in the face of fear, and joy in light of miseries darkness.

Ultimately,  this film mirrors the beauty of Choice: one moment, one person, one heart at a time - choosing to harness the energy of Love and bravely stand for it!

Day One of Art Every Day Month:

“Did you see the Moon tonight, from the bathroom window?”  Ken asks.

“Ummm, specifically from the bathroom window? No.”

I thought it odd he was so excited about the view from the bathroom and so had to investigate.  His smirk and ultra-mysterious gleem in his eye quickened my pace. He followed directly behind.

Walking in to the dark room, I flipped the light on.  He flipped it off.  Thus we  stood, side by side, in front of an opaque window, oo-ing and awe-ing at the geometries created by the refracting Light of the November full moon.

Simple beauty.  I love that Ken takes time to honor the sublime.

Quickly, I grabbed my camera, ready to record the beauty and wonder of it all.  Then I realized I had to adjust my shutter speed to grab the low light.  Radically adjust it.  Down, down, down.

To give some perspective, 1/60 (that’s one sixtieth of a second) is the slowest speed one can go without creating blur — my meter was giving me a 20 second exposure.  20 seconds is a long time in Camera Land.

I thought, ‘Why not.  Let’s give it a go and see what appears.’

The above is what came thru.

This shot will not win any awards, nor does it really POP!, grab the eye or reveal mysteries in the simplicity of its being.  Or does it?

This image speaks to me in a subtle way. When one looks at the “blur”, it rolls in a circular pattern.  See the top and bottom of the Light column?  There.

A tube torus also appears out of the hazy chaos creating ‘Tubes of Light, circles at night’.

Funny - in my attempt to hold center, to practice stillness and peace of being, is revealed a circular flow, a subtle energy pattern. I am taking it as a sign that I am able to ‘roll’ with the moment and light-heartedly live in the flow zone.

So, there’s Day One … posted on Day Three.

” This is my truth. I look forward to others.

It’s my best work.

True, there have been a few cross sections… light and shadow.

I recognize many. But after a few intimate glimpses, they seem long ago – my life has changed so much. The heat rises within me, most have made
me happy – and others most definitely! That has lasted through the
years.

When it comes to my friends, time has been no limit. We share love for
each other that is never consumed. There is always room for more. No
matter how long we are apart, we are like minutes from before each time
we come together. We think of one another and smile.

What amazes me most of all is how the numbers have grown with little
effort, the dreams of traditional extended family community and the
enthusiastic way we see one another. We watch each other from the
expanse of our dreams, supporting, adding energy when we can.

I am lucky enough to have a strong support base. My path laid before me by Elders.

There is a place… a place bathed by Grandfather’s light.

Honest, I’ve dreamed it!

The light spills down through ponderosa pine.

I could use help with the vision. I’ll share with you.

Glance at potential, my friend.

C’mon… how would it be to be relevant in something, someway that
effects a bigger whole. Community working, living, preserving
continuance, pouring our love into a lifework.

Coming Home.

“Do you know the Crescent Moon Ceremony?” Shoshone-Cherokee medicine man, Rolling Thunder sat before me.

“Yes… Grandpa taught me. It’s been a long time… Grandfather [Rolling
Thunder], about the vision… you’ve had it. We’ve all had it… it’s more
than any of us can do alone.”

Rolling Thunder was a friend of my grandfather’s, and I was visiting him during a lecture at Chico State around 1979 or 1980.

He opened his eyes. “Moon Fire, addressing me by my childhood name, it
will come… Crescent Moon Camp carries the dream and time will be along.”

He smiled and stroked my hair affectionately; a child of a friend. “…it will come.”

Today I walked above the llama pasture and began to play my flute.

Spirit blows on the summer breeze. Land bathed, truth, I know. Heart
strong lights the sky, and comes from you. Llamas showed me new ways
after the lightning. They would sit with me for long periods of time. I
am in initiation. I become. Known. My song, once Moon Fire, now
Returning Star. Light answers come.

Three times I have sought the dream on earth. Grandfather’s
Taanaashkaada… my Crescent Moon Camp. Each time those that have
gathered have come closer than before. At last they must dream
themselves, I stand before the stars.

Hear me, stand as before your birth. Send light that others may see. Warm with your smiles that dreams might prosper.

The world shudders, and civilization shakes. The wind blows.

Bringing vision isn’t easy. Spirits speak. Humans listen as they will.
I know both voices. Signs, silence, speak again… a vision of merit,
worth my sacrifice.

We build a great fire. As the fire burns we sit close in such a way that we purify our intent.

When the lightning sickness comes I see the dream of my youth. My head becomes light, and electricity rages inside me.

Speak to Spirit, pray, bow your head so that your eyes see the blazing truth within. Speak and know the wisdom.
Mind cloudy. Laughter and no image. A voice, but no face.

Speak clearly. Brighten life from wisdom.

See, feel, hear. Allies.

It’s been like this. Drifting through space. Eyes to see, mouth to speak. Ears to hear; fingers to touch.
Open, great light shines forth. From the light comes an eagle. It flies
in three great circles. A feather falls… a gift… a promise.

It’s a strange thing. My head is on fire. I drink water and aloe.
Clouds. Mountains. Tend systems, purge toxins. This vision has been
held, loved and practiced knowledge for attendance.
